Here is a quick round up of things to do in London over the weekend. Take a look at what’s on in the city between the 13-15th of December 2013.
Catch the Hobbit
It’s what all us Middle Earth Fans have been waiting for and it’s finally here. If you do anything in London this weekend go and watch ‘The Hobbit: Desolation of Smaug in your local cinema. Following on from Bilbo’s last adventure flying with Eagles, the modest Hobbit continues his journey with his fellow dwarven companions to Lonely Mountains in search of the Arkenstone. Peter Jackson is set to outdo himself in the second instalment in the three-part adaptation of Tolkien’s ‘The Hobbit’.
Start Christmas in St Johns Wood
St John’s Wood High Street is being turned into Santa’s second home this weekend and the perfect way to kick-start the festive season if you haven’t already. From letter writing workshops to meeting Santa himself, there is plenty of Christmas cheer to be had in St Johns Wood. Santa’s grotto will be amidst stalls and shops selling their wares, mince pies and mulled wine. Don’t miss you and take part in the Christmas Lucky dip where you can win a chance to be a Zoo Keeper for a day among other prizes.
The Big Reunion
It’s the final night in ITV’s big reunion tour in London’s O2. Five, Atomic Kitten and Bewitched are among the many bands that have got together to record the Wizzards Christmas Hit ‘I Wish it could be Christmas’ for ITV’s Text Santa Appeal. All proceeds will go to help support Age UK, Barnardo’s, BeatBullying, the British Heart Foundation, CLIC Sargent and Help the Hospices in their work. It is set to be a good night so be sure to get your tickets here before they run out.
Final Curtains at the Wapping Project
The final show at the Wapping Project, The Lady from the Sea will mark the end of a thirteen year-long run of the Wapping Project bringing culture and class to E1. Taken from Henrik Ibsens play in 1888 where a doctor and sailor fight for a young woman’s affection. Set in Artic landscapes and Wooden Shacks the big film projection is set to create a storm. Get your tickets here before it is too late.
